These small-group, hands-on, intensive workshops run 10am to 5pm. Each student gets a fully-loaded Macintosh or Windows computer. Workshop Instructors lead students in case studies and tutorials which clearly demonstrate tricks of the trade.

Cinema 4D with Mograph

This workshop will cover 3D Fundamentals using CINEMA 4D R11, including Navigating in 3D Space, Lights and Cameras, Textures and Materials, Multi-pass Rendering, Keyframe Animation, Using the Timeline and more.

After Effects Fundamentals

This workshop is a 1 day crash course in the fundamentals of after effects. It is designed to bring anyone up to speed on keyframes animation, visual effects, compositing, time bending, basic 3D and character animation with Adobe After Effects CS4.

Sound Design in Ableton Live

Taught by Huston Singletary, Lead Trainer, Ableton

This is a 4 hour workshop from 10am to 2pm. It is for beginner and intermediate users of Ableton Live. Topics include:

+ overview of the use of quicktime video layers
+ using Live for multitrack sound composition with both audio and MIDI layers
+ creating sound effects with audio effects and warping.
+ best practices for use of the 34 onboard audio effects
+ overview of third-party plugins such as Izotope RX, Wave Arts, AU and VST compatible plugins.

After Effects Advanced Techniques

Taught by Mason Dixon, SAIC

This hands-on workshops discusses specific design techniques for using Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects together to take a design from conception to completion. Basic Effects are combined together in complicated ways to create more sophisticated special effects. Rendering, compositional structures and formatting fundamentals are discussed, along with specific in-depth examples of motion tracking and green screening compositing.
